Can I smooth, shape and tighten my jawline without surgery?, the answer is most certainly yes. Can jowls be lifted without surgery? Yes, yes & yes!. you do not need to live with those jowls, double chin, saggy skin, whichever way you describe it, there is an answer. You may be thinking “Do I need to go under the knife?” “Do I need a full facelift?” Don’t worry the answer is no, keep reading to find out why.
Can jowls be lifted without surgery?
Unfortunately nature can be unkind and so can gravity, but fortunately there is now a treatment, to lift those jowls. A facelift without surgery, using filler. The filler we use is Juvederm, it is Hyaluronic acid, which is not as scary as it sounds. Our own skin cells actually produce hyaluronic acid naturally in an effort to maintain moisture levels. Due to ageing and environmental factors our faces are literally “faced” with on a daily basis, our own natural levels take a dip. This can cause, dullness, fine lines and uneven skin tone and texture, which are none of the things that give us youthful looking skin.
But why do I get jowls?
Our jawline is a major part of the scaffolding for our entire face, so as those signs of ageing start to happen, what we are really seeing is loss of elasticity and volume which causes those horrible jowls. A natural defined jawline will not make you look like a man (unless of course, you are a man who would like a more chiselled and defined look in which case we can do that too, have a look here), in the hands of the right practitioner you will achieve a naturally beautiful jawline that is subtly and delicately contoured not chiselled. So back to our original question – Can jowls be lifted without surgery? Absolutely and definitely!.
So what can help lift my jowls?
When we are young we have, what the facial aesthetics industry calls a “triangle of youth”. This means there is more volume in the upper face. This then tapers down into a ‘v’ shape at the jaw. These shapes are nothing new they are actually the mathematical ideals of beauty. But as we age this “triangle of youth” actually ends up turned upside down. So the heaviness is now in the lower part of the face, causing a saggy look.
This is why defining the jawline can have such a skin tightening effect. Combined with some cheek filler and the overall effect is smooth and tightened skin. Which is not over stretched, like a regular surgical facelift would leave you with. Instead the skin looks plump in the right places and contoured where it should be. You could call it “a real life filter”
Learning how to define the jawline is surprisingly important to many of us. A 2017 study by The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery found that 67 per cent of the people surveyed were bothered by excess fat and skin around their chin and neck. With all the latest trends in our instagram feeds of some very pulled tight high pony tails. (as seen on Kylie Jenner in the latest edition of Vogue – January 2020). This treatment revolution could not have come at a better time.
Our secret weapon against jowls – Juvederm
The saviour of all of our lower face distress is Juvederm’s latest hyaluronic acid filler Volux. It has been created with jawlines at the forefront of its development. Volux is the most advanced and superior product currently on the market, and it’s made for this very job. Juvederm Volux has a very strong reputation as the product for transforming jawlines.
Since its launch we have seen excellent results here at Austin Brewer Facial Aesthetics. One of the most popular questions in my clinic is “Can jowls be lifted without surgery”? And as we tell them, yes they can. Our clients have all been very impressed with the transformation of their jawlines. Combining the best hyaluronic filler and some very advanced training in “M D Codes” specialised for achieving such natural results. This is something which Austin Brewer is a proud advocate of,
“The days of over filled lips and cheeks are looking like they are turning a corner. I’m very pleased they are becoming a thing of the past. I have always wanted to give my clients the most beautiful and natural results.”
Advanced treatments – excellent results
And so the rise of the popular the liquid facelift has continued to become one of our most popular treatments. This is mostly down to the fact that it looks so very natural.
We are very pleased to be one of the first clinics to offer Juvederm Volux. We have been offering this jawline sculpting treatment in Bournemouth since its launch.
So remember, having a defined jawline does not mean you will end up looking like a man. It will however, give you a defined natural jaw enhancement without having surgery. If you are wondering how long jawline filler will last?, you’ll be pleased to hear that the instant results will last you approx 18 months and there is no downtime.

Botox is a fantastic way to reduce wrinkles on your face. Commonly in areas such as the forehead and frown lines. Are you are conscious of sagging eyelids and brows?. Botox can also give your eyebrows an extra lift. Giving a boost your confidence.
Botox can lift your eyebrows by injecting it into the areas around the eyebrows. This smooths sagging skin, making eyebrows appear lifted and more symmetrical. Botox can help to create a fresh, youthful look by opening up the eyes and reducing drooping.
How does a Botox brow lift work?
A Botox® brow lift is a non-surgical procedure. It involves injecting Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) into the muscles. This wrinkle treatment works by relaxing the muscles surrounding the eyebrow area. Once injected this prevents movement. The skin around the eyebrow area will look smoother and lifted.
How long until you see results from a Botox brow lift?
If you have a Botox brow lift, you can expect to start seeing results relatively quickly, usually within a few days. Full results can take up to two weeks. A Botox brow lift can last for three to six months before you require a top up.
What are the benefits of a Botox brow lift?
A Botox brow lift is a simple and easy procedure. It has the power to completely transform your eye area and boost your confidence. A small amount of Botox can make your eyebrows look evenly balanced. The lift will flatter the framing of your face. It can also make it easier to put on makeup due to the reduced sagging and easier access to the eyelid area.
At Austin Brewer, we offer Botox near you in Bournemouth. Which is carried out by our very own medical facial practitioner. Austin has over 15 years of facial aesthetics experience under his belt. We always carry out a free, no obligation consultation. This will then determine how a Botox brow lift would work best for your face shape.
Non-surgical nose jobs are becoming more and more popular and it’s easy to understand why. Results are seen instantly, it’s more affordable than rhinoplasty and the recovery time is minimal. If you’ve always wanted to tweak your nose shape to enhance your overall look, then read on and discover why a non-surgical nose job will be the best option for you.
Why is a non-surgical nose job better?
Many people have concerns about going under the knife as plastic surgery is extremely invasive. Surgery needs plenty of downtime and requires an anesthetic. If you prefer not to have permanent surgery, a non-surgical nose job may be more appealing. Treatment is less risky and has fewer side effects.
The results are immediately noticeable and the recovery time is faster. Initially, you may notice some swelling but this is temporary. Any swelling generally settles down after 24 hours.
Almost all of us have seen a rhinoplasty that looks unconvincing, but non-surgical nose jobs give a natural appearance.
How does it work?
Dermal fillers are injected to specific areas to provide balance or to accentuate your nose shape. The facial fillers used to even out bumps and create a straight line. If your main concern is that your nose is too wide, filler can also be inserted into the end of your nose to lift the tip and give the appearance of a thinner shape.
How long will the results last?
One of the key benefits of this non-surgical procedure is the effects aren’t permanent. Your results will last between six and eighteen months. This time frame varies patient to patient as different volumes of fillers can be used to reach the desired look.

Thinking about Botox? If you are starting your wrinkle treatment research, you know there are lots of providers to choose from. Read our expert advice on where you should get Botox in Bournemouth for safe, reliable and natural-looking results.
High Street Botox
There has been a recent surge of Botox wrinkle treatments available on the high street. Now even national high street retailers have announced plans to perform Botox in their stores. But there are many safety concerns over this type of ‘casual beauty treatment’. Unlike eyebrow threading or waxing, Botox requires a safe, sterile consultation room. It is also essential that Botox is performed by a qualified and experienced professional. Before you are tempted by cheap prices, do your research to find a reputable company. Consult previous customer testimonials to get a good idea of how safe their practises are.
At our skin clinic in Bournemouth, we strongly advise against Botox parties for the following reasons:
• Botox parties are commonly held in private homes, away from safe regulation.
• Guests are often encouraged to try wrinkle treatments without any formal or professional consultation beforehand.
• The treatments are often performed by beauticians, rather than qualified professionals.
If you choose to attend a Botox party, be wary of any legal waiver you are asked to sign. If any complication occurs, your beautician may not be held responsible. This means you may have to visit a professional clinic or hospital if you suffer from an abscess or infection from unprofessionally administered dermal fillers.
The safest place to get Botox in Poole and Bournemouth are from a reputable skin clinic. Austin Brewer is fully qualified aesthetic practitioner with years of experience.

As the summer comes to close, most of us swap to a more heavy-duty moisturiser. The winter weather calls for a higher level of hydration and injectable moisturisers are be the ideal solution. Injectable moisturisers (or skin boosters) are the hottest cosmetic trend right now. Read on to find out why.
How Do Injectable Moisturisers Work?
Volite is the latest anti-aging treatment from famous Botox® brand, Juvéderm. The Volite contains hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in the body to plump and hydrate the skin. Just one treatment provides a whole nine months of dermal hydration. The result? A beautiful glowing, dewy complexion. Skin boosters like Juvéderm Volite plumps and evens the skin and can help reduce fine lines.
How Are Moisture Injections Different To Dermal Fillers?
The hyaluronic acid in moisture injections is more aqueous than in traditional dermal fillers. This fluid texture allows the moisture to spread evenly across the skin. The flowing hyaluronic acid in injectable moisturisers is well suited for hands, neck and décolletage application.
Why Is Juvéderm Volite Moisturiser Treatment Better Than Normal Moisturisers?
There are plenty of anti-aging moisturisers on the market, but these can only be applied on top of the skin. Your complexion will only retain a small amount of moisture from topical creams. However, injectable moisturisers stimulate under the skin barrier to increase the body’s own production of collagen and elastin to rejuvenate your complexion.
Where Can I Get A Skin Booster Treatment?
Experienced aesthetic practitioner, Austin Brewer, has years of experience applying cosmetic treatments with Juvéderm products. Juvéderm Volite is ideal for anyone who wants more skin moisture and a glowing complexion. Visit our skin clinic in Bournemouth to find out more.

So, when is the best time to start Botox?. We all know the basics of good skin care. Avoid smoking, sunbathing, get your eight hours of beauty sleep, ect. But lifestyle habits can have a varied effect on your skin depending on your age. Drinking a few too many cocktails in the sun will have less damaging effect on a twenty-year-old than a fifty year old. So when should you start thinking about wrinkle treatments?
Botox In Your Twenties
“Preventative Botox” is becoming more and more popular with young women. Many women in their twenties are having Botox in Bournemouth to reduce the risk of wrinkles and lines forming too deeply in future. This may be a good idea for those who are noticing faint lines from squinting or frowning. Early Botox is also recommended for twenty-somethings who regularly sunbathe or smoke.
Botox In Your Thirties
Your thirties are normally when most people start to see noticeable wrinkles and lines. Women who have started their own family (and suffering from lack of sleep!) may be more susceptible to early wrinkles. Similarly, stress, smoking and sun rays will start to cause more damage to the skin than before. This is a good time to start Botox wrinkle treatments to prevent permanent deep lines.
Botox In Your Forties
At forty, most women will begin to form prominent crow’s feet and frown lines. Botox can be applied to these target areas to rejuvenate the skin and take years off you! This is also a good time to start chemical peels in Bournemouth, which stimulate collagen production and reduce the signs of aging.
Botox In Your Fifties
By the time women hit fifty, deep lines have formed around the eyes and mouth. The face may have also lost volume and elasticity. We recommend using a combination of Botox for pronounced lines and dermal fillers to bring back a youthful volume and glow to your complexion.
Botox In Your Sixties
Botox is for everyone and it’s never too late. Botox is an ideal option for mature women who don’t wish to under-go cosmetic surgery but want to improve their appearance. Although Botox alone may not make you look twenty one again, they can be combined with a dermal filler 8 point facelift to achieve a fresh, younger look.
Hopefully this helps answer “when is the best time to start Botox” If you would further information or would like to try Botox or lip fillers, contact us at our Austin Brewer skin clinic in Bournemouth on 07823 883 888 and book your free skin consultation.
What is a liquid facelift? Here at Austin Brewer we can offer an all round solution that’s better than a cream but less drastic than going under the knife. Despite the claims of beauty creams, products and lotion, no external moisturiser will truly eradicate wrinkles. However, not everyone is willing to go under the knife to achieve a youthful look. Luckily, there is a solution. Read on to discover why ‘liquid facelifts’ are the ideal solution for non-surgical, effective results.
How does a liquid facelift work?
A ‘liquid facelift’ uses dermal fillers and Botox®, strategically inserted into specific areas of the face to emulate the results of a surgical facelift. Dermal fillers contain biocompatible hyaluronic acid to moisturise the skin and boost skin tone. Botox is made from Botulinum Toxin Type A, an intensely purified protein, the relax the muscle area. Both are used together to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and sagging to create a natural-looking, youthful result.
How long do the results last?
The results of a liquid face lift can last anywhere between one to two years. The length of the results may depend on which areas of the face are targeted. The effects of a liquid facelift can be seen almost instantly after the cosmetic treatment after any mild swelling has dissipated after 24 hours.
What if I don’t want Botox?
If you are interested in the idea of a liquid facelift but not sure if you are ready for Botox or perhaps you simply don’t need it just yet. Talk to your aesthetic practitioner about an 8-point facelift. This is similar to a liquid facelift but uses only dermal fillers. The facial fillers are inserted into specific areas of the face as outlined by the MD code system.
Where can I get a liquid facelift?
For natural and reliable results, consult a qualified and experienced aesthetic practitioner. Austin Brewer has over 25 years of experience producing wrinkle treatments with outstanding results.
Are you looking for the best dermal fillers in Bournemouth & Poole?
Nothing looks so youthful as a face with full, round cheeks. Although many of us may resent ‘baby face’ in our early years, the difference when volume is lost in the face is considerable. Sadly, as we age the face loses its volume. This can result in a hollow, gaunt look. But luckily you can rejuvenate the shape of your cheeks with the best dermal fillers in Bournemouth & Poole.
How do cheek dermal fillers work?
Cheeks are a central focus to the face. A flattering cheek shape can help improve the jawline or simply plump areas where cheeks have lost volume over time. Dermal fillers help revitalise your appearance by injecting hyaluronic acid to plump out the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body and has amazing moisturising agents to improve the skin tone.
MD codes for cheeks
If your aesthetic practitioner is inexperienced or unknowledgeable, dermal fillers in the cheeks may look unnaturally ‘pillowy’. This is caused by using too much filler in the wrong areas of the face. If you are considering trying dermal fillers for the first time, ask your practitioner for an MD Code dermal filler face lift. MD codes are an innovative system to ensure provide aesthetic practitioner with clear guidelines to achieve beautiful, natural looking results.
What are the best dermal fillers for cheeks?
We use the best dermal fillers in bournemouth & Poole, namely Juvederm. All the fillers we use in our skin clinic in Bournemouth are 100% hyaluronic acid based and biocompatible. The brand and type of dermal filler may vary according to each patient’s individual needs. We currently use Restylane and Juvéderm dermal fillers in our clinic.
How long do cheek fillers last?
Dermal fillers will last between six and eighteen months. The length of after-effects will be dependent on the amount used and the requirements of the client.
The new 8 Point facelift is a hot topic amongst beauty bloggers right now. With it’s significant but natural effects, it’s clear to see why. Even those who swore they would never touch a needle are trying this new non-surgical face lift. We explain how the eight point face lift system is different and why you should try it.
You may be hesitant to try Botox in Bournemouth or dermal fillers after seeing the ‘frozen face’ results from inexperienced practitioners. MD codes are different. The innovative 8 point facelift takes any unpredictable guesswork out of the equation. Dr Maio’s dermal filler system instructs aesthetic practitioners where to inject fillers to create specific changes or movement in the face. MD codes in the 8 point facelift also provide detailed recommendations of the correct amount of filler to use. This prevents any risk of puffy ‘pillow face’ effects.
What do MD Codes do?
The main aim of MD codes is to reverse signs of gravity and ageing. Dermal fillers are applied to tighten areas of the face which is starting to sag or plump areas that need more volume.
Some common areas include:
• Lifting cheekbones
• Reduce lines from the nose to the mouth
• Add symmetry
• Plump hollow areas under the eyes
This system only uses the minimal number of injections to create a youthful and natural look appearance.
Does the 8 point facelift hurt?
You may experience a slight stinging in the areas being treated. However, the fillers are applied with an ultra-thin needle, similar to lip fillers, so the discomfort is minimal. There is also lidocaine in the fillers. So any minimal pain or discomfort will soon fade soon after the treatment is complete.
How long does a 8 point facelift last?
This cosmetic treatment procedure only takes between 45 mins to 1 hour to complete. As each treatment is bespoke to the individual some procedures may not need fillers in all 8 points.
The stunning results of the 8 point face lift system can last up to 18 months. Length of results may vary depending on the type of dermal filler use and the areas which are treated.

If you are on the hunt for full, pouty lips you may have heard of the latest cosmetic treatment trend the ‘Botox® Lip Flip’. But what is it? Learn more below from aesthetic practitioner in Bournemouth, Austin Brewer
The difference between lip fillers and the Botox ‘Lip Flip’
The first thing to note is the ‘Lip Flip’ is not the same as lip fillers. Lip filler plumps the lips by injecting hyaluronic acid into the lips. This cosmetic treatment enlarges the lips by adding more volume. The process is quick and the results can last up to six months. If you want to know more about lip fillers in Poole, contact our aesthetic practitioner clinic for more information.
Botox® on the other hand, is an injection of Botulinum Toxin Type A, which relaxes the muscle and its activity. It is commonly used as a smoothing wrinkle treatment. Our Botox® in Bournemouth treatments can last up to 3 months.
How does it work?
The ‘Lip Flip’ is a technique that creates the appearance of fuller lips. Botox® injections are inserted into strategic areas around the mouth (the ‘orbicularis oris’). This approach relaxes the muscle at the sides of both the top and lower lip to ‘flip’ the lip out and create a pretty, pouty illusion – but beware it’s not the right look for everyone.
Where to get a Botox® Lip Flip
If you are wanting a ‘Lip Flip’, be sure to visit an experienced and qualified aesthetic practitioner. The ‘Lip Flip’ is an intricate technique and requires an experienced professional to create a natural-looking result. Austin Brewer has over 25 years’ experience performing high-quality facial aesthetic treatments.
When you are feeling down, it can be clearly seen in your facial expression. Many of us have childhood memories being told to ‘turn a frown upside down’, but can your facial expression affect how you feel?
Physical ways Botox can help depression
How can you use Botox® for depression? A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research tested subjects with Botox® injected into the facial areas most commonly connected to low mood. The subjects were suffering from long-term depression but unconcerned with how they looked. Many of them claimed they never would have considered Botox® to improve their appearance. The research concluded that Botox® still improved the mood of the test subjects. This is because the injection of botulinum toxin relaxed the ‘frowning’ muscles and reduces the negative emotional signals transmitted to the brain.
Psychological ways Botox treats depression
So, we understand Botox® in Bournemouth helps alleviate depression physically but what about psychologically? How we feel about our physical appearance can have a significant effect on our self-esteem. Most people will confirm that when they look good, they feel better and more confident. We find many of our clients feel Botox® smooths out their insecurities (as well as their wrinkles!). If you are feeling self-conscious about your laughter lines or those deep lines between your brows, wrinkle treatments can help reduce your concerns and feel better daily.

Dermal fillers are one of our most popular cosmetic treatments. They give your complexion a bright, youthful tone and can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. But one question we are often asked is “Can dermal fillers move?”. Here we discuss why you can rest assured your facial fillers will stay put!
Common fillers myths
The idea that dermal fillers would move seems logical. In fact, many patients feel nervous when washing or touching their face, in fear that their facial fillers may move. But don’t worry!
The filler and lip fillers we use in our aesthetic practitioner clinic are made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the human body. Interestingly, these fillers contain a clever molecule that coils when it is inserted into the skin. This tissue integration causes the molecules to weave itself with the natural collagen and elastin in the skin, keeping the filler firmly in place. Dermal fillers once settled after treatment will remain in the area they have been injected and usually last between six and eighteen months.
Are dermal fillers removable?
If your facial fillers are firmly fixed into your skin, what happens if you don’t like the results? One of the good aspects of this cosmetic treatment is that it can be removed. Although to remove dermal fillers is not a procedure that is without it’s own risks and complications as hyaluronidase can have serious side effects. It should not be used as a option lightly. Hyaluronic acid is an incredible molecule, that does not bind itself to any other molecules, so it can be dissolved. Unlike surgical treatments, dermal fillers are low risk, with no permanent changes.
We have never had to remove facial fillers at our clinic. Our clients have always been happy with their results!
