Profhilo – Everything you need to know

Known as the secret weapon for many a celebrity and beauty insider.  In this blog we discuss Profhilo – everything you need to know. Profhilo is a “beneath the skin” moisturiser.  It is a revolutionary hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment.  It is excellent for skin that is losing its elasticity and firmness due to ageing.  Improvements will be shown in skin tone, firmness and hydration, also lines are minimised.

Profhilo – everything you need to know…

Profhilo injectable gel stimulates the activity in the dermal cell receptors, the results counteract skin laxity and improves and restores the skins firmness.  This process call “Bio-remodelling” is triggered in the skin, which then creates new and bouncy collagen and elastin.  This treatment will tackle all signs of skin ageing such as fine lines and wrinkles, crepiness and thinning dull skin.  Improvement will be seen to skin laxity as the skin rejuvenation process begins to work.

Profhilo has one the highest concentrations of hylauronic  acid on the market.  The treatment will boost and hydrate your skin.  Profhilo will also remodel ageing and sagging skin.   It is an ideal treatment for rehydration rather than sculpting your face,  So if you just want to firm and improve the skin texture rather than add volume Profhilo is an ideal treatment for you.

The areas that can be treated with Profhilo

Face

Neck

Décolletage

Hands

How many treatments are needed?

Profhilo requires 2 treatments which are taken 4 weeks apart for best results.   Further treatments can be done approximately every 6 months in order to prolong the effects.

The treatment is suitable for men and women offering skin benefits for people of all ages.

How Profhilo gives you that “glow”

Profhilo is an ultra pure hyaluronic acid.  When it is injected precisely in to the upper layers of the skin, it will stimulate your collagen and elastin.  Attracting water into the deepest layers of the skin, thus providing unbeatable hydration.  Leaving you with beautifully glowing, firm and hydrated skin.

Once Profhilo is injected, the slow release of the hyaluronic acid stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin begins.  This stimulation promotes significant tissue improvement, Profhilo also has a wonderful tightening and lifting effect of the skin.

Profhilo injections are a 2 part treatment, with the second part happening 4 weeks after the first.  In the following days after the first session your skin will be busy rejuvenating and producing the elastin and collagen needed to give you skin that is firmer and smoother.  An all round glowing complexion.  The treatment will stimulate and the second treatment will boost and ensure longevity.  Full results are only seen after the second treatment as this is when your skin really starts to show the plumping and hydrating effects, however you will definitely see changes after the first session.

Profhilo – everything you need to know – frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between Profhilo and dermal fillers?

The only real similarity between Profhilo and dermal fillers is that they are both made from hyaluronic acid which is injected into your skin.  Profhilo contains an exceptionally high concentration of pure hyaluronic acid, which is exceptionally pure because of the patented manufacturing process which is unique as the process does not involve the use of chemical cross-linking agents to bind the chains.

Traditional dermal fillers are all made of hyaluronic acid and all have a different viscosity, dependent on the requirements and which areas are being treated.  So a thicker filler would be used for your jawline compared to your lips for instance.  Profhilo is not a dermal filler.  It is a much thinner consistency due to the molecular chains of non-animal hyaluronic acid being formed of both high and low molecular weight.  They are fused together making them thermally stabilised and this creates a patented gel which, when injected spreads to become integrated into the skin.  It is only injected into the upper layer of the skin, as it’s not being used to fill anything, just to rehydrate the skin to enable the scaffolding effect and trigger the bio-remodellling process.

Is Profhilo better than fillers?

Essential they are 2 different products for 2 different treatment options.  Profhilo is excellent at rejuvenating the skins texture and hydration.  Profhilo will not add any volume, but it will improve the appearance of of ageing and sagging tissue with a tightening lifting effect.  Fillers are used to create volume that is lost due to ageing eg; cheeks, temples & lips. Fillers can also be used for non-surgical nose jobs and non-surgical facelifts too.

Is Profhilo better than Botox?

Profhilo is for restoring the skins texture and to re-hydrate.  Botox is to inhibit a muscle from moving, so a wrinkle will no longer form.

What will I look like after Profhilo injections?

There is no downtime after Profhilo treatment, you may see some small bumps at the injection site, these can take up to 24 hours to settle.

Profhilo has an innovative technique with minimal injections, so treatment is quick with little discomfort.

Is Profhilo safe?

The Profhilo treatment is biocompatible, this is due to the pure and high grade hyaluronic acid that it consists of.  It is also important to note that it is free from additives, which delivers greater reassurance of safety and reduction of side effects.  Even though there is an incredibly high content of hyaluronic acid, it has a low inflammatory profile.  Importantly Profhilo is backed by clinical studies.  As with any injectable treatment there can be risks involved, all of which will be discussed with you at you consultation with Austin.

Am I suitable for Profhilo treatment?

Austin will discuss the Profhilo treatment including your expectations of the outcome after treatment.  He will also explain any possible side effects, with you in detail during your consultation.  Your medical history will also be taken to ensure, if you decide to go ahead with Profhilo, it is safe for you to do so.

Does Profhilo treatment hurt?

The injections are small but may sting a little.  Anaesthetic is not necessary as treatment is quick and there will possibly be only be, if any, mild discomfort.   There may be some residual tenderness, redness or needle marks at the site of injection, these will disappear in the next few days after treatment.  If you can feel any product where it has been injected please leave it alone to settle, as it will naturally disperse into your skin, do not massage.  You can resume your normal day to day activities, with some exceptions (see below).

Profhilo everything you need to know

Profhilo – everything you need to know to avoid for 48 hours after treatment

Exercise

Extremes of temperature

Sun exposure

Touching the treated area – to avoid any risk of infection

Avoid make up

Profhilo treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breast feeding.  Some medications and supplements can cause increased risk of bruising which should be avoided in the days before and after your Profhilo treatment.

If you are planning to have treatment for a special occasion, we suggest having the procedure in advance as much as possible before the event.  This is for 2 reasons, firstly you will want the full effects to be showing, which with this treatment takes time, due to the treatments needing to be 4 weeks apart.   Secondly, as with any injectable treatment there is always a risk of bruising, so leaving enough time before the event will ensure any bruising that may occur has the chance to go.

How long will my Profhilo treatment results last?

Everyone is unique, but as a general guide your Profhilo treatment results will last approx 6 months.

Profhilo is a great stand alone treatment, but Profhilo works primarily on the skin quality, not muscle movement or re-creating any lost volume.  For significant lift and enhancement to the face, Profhilo is brilliant when used in conjunction with other treatments too.

We hope that our “Profhilo – everything you need to know” blog has been useful.

3 Areas You Didn’t Know Dermal Fillers Could Be Used

Dermal fillers are incredibly versatile.  Which is why we thought we would let you know 3 Areas You Didn’t Know Dermal Fillers Could Be Used.  They can be used in all different ways and places dependent on the target placement area and the thickness (viscosity) of the dermal filler.

Did you know that dermal fillers can be used in other areas and not just on your face?.

Have you had facial treatments?, but maybe your neck, décolletage or hands are still giving the game away about your age?.  Austin Brewer can provide the answer.  3 areas you didn’t know dermal fillers could be used.  Straight forward treatments that are long lasting and will turn back the clock for these areas instantly.

The dermal fillers that are used at Austin Brewer are 100% hylauronic acid.  This is a substance that is naturally present in the body (your eyeballs, joints and skin).  It can hold 1000 x its weight in water, which is why it makes such an excellent product to rejuvenate and replace lost volume.  Fillers are all naturally broken down by the body over time.

Dermal fillers will fill wrinkles and add volume to soft tissue.  A series of small injections of the gel are precisely placed to deposit the filler to where it is needed.   These work to replace the lost collagen and elastin, which experts have agreed generally happens by our late 20’s!

A straight forward procedure

With very little downtime, it’s no wonder that fillers are an optimum way to achieve a youthful and glowing skin but without the inconvenience of having to adjust your day to day life.  Having an injectable filler treatment is a quick and straight forward procedure, when carried out by a medical professional who is proficiently trained.

We always advise against trying to get a cheap deal when you are looking for an injectable  treatment as unfortunately you will always get what you pay for.  This mostly means a cheap product being used that is not prescribed for you, and unsatisfactory results from bad injection technique.  Sadly we have seen far too many clients after having filler from a cheap deal, only to ask if we can help correct it.

Removal of filler is possible, but does have its own risks and complications too.  It is not something to consider lightly.  So please don’t think, “I can get cheap filler and if I don’t like it I can simply have it removed” this is not the way to think when you are considering an injectable treatment.  The incorrect placement of filler can have devastating effects before you even think about having it removed.  It is worth remembering, there are far fewer practitioners that are competent at removing filler than those who are willing to inject you in the first place!.

Please stay safe and only use a reputable and fully insured and trained medical professional.

Austin Brewer is a highly qualified and experienced medical aesthetic practitioner.

He has specialised in dermal filler treatments since 2004.   Austin will always offer you a free consultation.  You can ask all the questions you wish and Austin will be able to asses you and the whether the treatment requested is appropriate for you.  This is so that all options can be discussed, and the full procedure explained, including cost and expected outcomes.

Increasingly we have seen our clients are addressing ageing issues that go beyond just the usual facial area.  The neck, décolletage and backs of the hands have in the past been mostly overlooked.  However, with modern techniques and improvements in products, these procedure are deservedly facing a surge in popularity.  Often it’s the small details that can make the big contribution to your overall look.  With no downtime, these non invasive treatments can literally turn back the clock.

Neck • Décolletage • Hands

We all know what the combination of ageing and the sun can do to our skin.  Unfortunately our necks, décolletage and backs of our hands are in the sun just as much as our faces.   But most of time they simply get overlooked when we apply spf.  This can result in premature age and sun spots too (we can also provide treatment for these).  Combined with the lines and wrinkles, this can make these areas appear much older than the rest of you.

The following information about 3 areas you didn’t know dermal fillers could be used.  Are all areas that can all be improved from a simple anti ageing dermal filler treatment & safe removal of sun and age spots.

3 AREAS YOU DIDN’T KNOW DERMAL FILLERS COULD BE USED

3 AREAS YOU DIDN’T KNOW DERMAL FILLERS COULD BE USED

NECK LINES

Neck lines appear over time and are a natural part of the ageing process.  Along with gravity, our necks begin to suffer the unwanted effects of lines and sagging.  However, that’s not to say that we can’t give your neck a little helping hand and turn back the clock.  We are prone to our necks ageing faster due to the dermis being thinner.

Neck wrinkles are also becoming an issue in our modern age due to repeatedly looking down at our phones otherwise known as…Tech neck.  This new term has been used as a reference to how long we all spend looking down at our devices, and sadly our bodies, one way or another pay the price.  Alongside smoking, this seems to be one of the biggest contributors to the lines arriving on our neck prematurely.

Treatment for the neck is straight forward and long lasting.  Using dermal fillers lines on the neck can be smoothed away, leaving the neck looking instantly rejuvenated and youthful.  There is also another treatment for the neck lines, which involves botox, this will also help with the look of lines and “turkey neck” which happens due to sagging platysma muscles.  Both of these treatments are provide excellent results in dealing with neck lines.

3 AREAS YOU DIDN’T KNOW DERMAL FILLERS COULD BE USED

DÉCOLLETAGE

Decolletage or Décolleté this delicate area is all too often overlooked until one day the unloved area looks back at you in the mirror and you realise how neglected it has been.   The wrinkles that appear on your décolletage are due to a mixture of factors.  The mains ones are age, sun exposure, gravity and diet.  All of these will have a contributory factor in the breakdown of the collagen and elastin in the middle layers of your skin.

The same as the neck, the décolletage area is also prone to age and sun spots.   These sun and age spots can also be simply treated in clinic.  When the skin is also creased and crepey it can make the skin in this delicate area look much older.  With a dermal filler treatment, the whole décolletage area will show a vast improvement.  The results will leave you with a completely rejuvenated appearance of the skin.  Treatment is long lasting and will enhance the appearance of the décolletage area.

Austin Brewer Aesthetics Hand Wrinkles

HAND WRINKLES

Hand wrinkles treatment with dermal fillers for hand wrinkles show instant results.  Along with the neck and décolletage, the hands are another area we simply don’t pay enough attention to.  But the hands can show our age just as much as our faces.

Our hands are put through a lot on a day to day basis so they deserve some special attention.  The skin is thin on the backs of our hands.  The ageing process & sun exposure results in loss of volume and again those annoying sun and age spots.

When you have dermal fillers administered for hand wrinkles you will be amazed at the difference this simple procedure can make.  Plumping out the appearance of any raised veins, and generally smoothing out the areas that have lost volume.  The results are always very effective and pleasing.

At Austin Brewer aesthetics we use only the very best clinically proven dermal fillers.  Juvederm is always our filler of choice as it consistently delivers the smoothest, most natural looking and longest lasting results.

Removal of sun and age spots as mentioned above is another treatment that Austin can offer in clinic.  Simple cryotherapy will eliminate these unwanted marks and the skin will once again look fresh and blemish free.  Ask for more information when you book your dermal filler treatment for complete skin rejuvenation.

Other improvements that will help

Apply moisturiser

Drink plenty of water

Always wear spf – every day

Try to limit time spent looking down at mobile phones etc

Stay out of the sun during hottest part of the day

Wear a hat in the sun as this has the bonus of protecting your face and neck.  If the brim is wide enough it will also protect your décolletage.

One last, but very important thing to note…

Unfortunately and strangely dermal fillers are not regulated in the UK.  So essentially anyone can buy them and start injecting.  Scary thought.  So we strongly advise you to only see a medical professional to administer any kind of injectable treatments – especially dermal fillers, as the complications that can arise from poor injection technique and incorrect placement are terrible and can be life changing.  So please do your research, ask questions and stay safe.

Will Botox Lift My Eyebrows?

Botox is a fantastic way to reduce wrinkles on your face.  Commonly in areas such as the forehead and frown lines.  Are you are conscious of sagging eyelids and brows?.  Botox can also give your eyebrows an extra lift.  Giving a boost your confidence.

Botox can lift your eyebrows by injecting it into the areas around the eyebrows.  This smooths sagging skin, making eyebrows appear lifted and more symmetrical.  Botox can help to create a fresh, youthful look by opening up the eyes and reducing drooping.

How does a Botox brow lift work?

A Botox® brow lift is a non-surgical procedure.  It involves injecting Botox (Botulinum Toxin Type A) into the muscles. This wrinkle treatment works by relaxing the muscles surrounding the eyebrow area.  Once injected this prevents movement.  The skin around the eyebrow area will look smoother and lifted.

How long until you see results from a Botox brow lift?

If you have a Botox brow lift, you can expect to start seeing results relatively quickly, usually within a few days.  Full results can take up to two weeks.  A Botox brow lift can last for three to six months before you require a top up.

What are the benefits of a Botox brow lift?

A Botox brow lift is a simple and easy procedure.  It has the power to completely transform your eye area and boost your confidence.  A small amount of Botox can make your eyebrows look evenly balanced.   The lift will flatter the framing of your face.  It can also make it easier to put on makeup due to the reduced sagging and easier access to the eyelid area.

At Austin Brewer, we offer Botox near you in Bournemouth.  Which is carried out by our very own medical facial practitioner.  Austin has over 15 years of facial aesthetics experience under his belt.  We always carry out a free, no obligation consultation.  This will then determine how a Botox brow lift would work best for your face shape.

Can Chemical Peels Remove Acne?

Are you are looking for an effective and safe solution to helping acne?.  Chemical peels are fantastic at reducing the appearance of acne.  At Austin Brewer facial aesthetics clinic, we provide chemical skin peels in Bournemouth .  With the added benefits of a highly qualified practitioner with skilled expertise.  Here are a few ways that chemical skin peels can help to remove mild to moderate acne and improve your confidence.

Calms down blemishes

The good news is that chemical peels in Bournemouth, at the Austin Brewer clinic can help to reduce the appearance of acne.  A medical grade skin peel will help rejuvenate your skin and reduce problems, including blackheads, whiteheads, inflamed red pimples and cystic acne. The growth of bacteria that results in the formation of acne, Propionibacterium acnes, can be prevented.  And this happens through the active anti-inflammatory ingredients which are found within chemical skin peels.  Therefore leaving you with an improved, smoother complexion.

Reduces acne scarring

Scarring can be an unfortunate side effect to acne.  This can be frustrating and upsetting, even if your active acne is calming down.  Chemical peels are an effective solution to reducing acne scars and accelerates the healing the process. This is due to the increase in collagen production within the skin that takes place after undergoing skin peeling.

Smoother and more even skin texture

Due to the anti-inflammatory and brightening properties of skin peeling.  A medical skin peel can significantly improve the texture of your skin.  Skin peels in Bournemouth at Austin Brewer can brighten your skin.  Leaving you with a healthy glow and a smoother, even texture.

Prevents pore-clogging

Chemical peels are a great way to keep you skin in tip-top condition for a long period of time.  This is because the skin’s top layer is dissolved during skin peels.  This then removes dead skin and oil under the surface.  So therefore this means that after a chemical peel, it is much less likely you will suffer with clogged pores.

Discover more about the medical benefits of chemical skin peels and how they can remove acne by speaking to our specialist facial aesthetic practitioner, Austin Brewer.  Contact us by calling 07823 883888.  We have over 25 years of experience and can tailor any treatment to your needs!

Top Tips for Skin Needling | Dermarolling Aftercare

Many people ask us “Does Dermarolling / micro needling really work?”. Our answer is always the same. Yes! But only if done correctly, safely and professionally and importantly, if the patient follows the correct aftercare.

Dermaroller® micro skin needling is a non-invasive treatment where tiny needles are rolled across the skin, encouraging the skin to renew itself in a controlled manner. After the initial rest time, the difference between the dermarolling before and after effects are profound. The skin will look more youthful and scarring from acne and stretchmarks will be visibly reduced.

Why the Dermarolling |skin needling aftercare is important?

The aftercare of skin needling & dermarolling is particularly important. This is because the process makes the skin delicate during the healing process. Post-treatment infections are extremely rare, as the pricking channels close within minutes. If the treatment is done under clean, careful clinical condition there should be no complications.
With all that said, following these tips to ensure your glowing skin lasts.

Avoid exercise after your dermarolling appointment

Many people love hearing this advice! This is your written doctor’s note to be lazy for at least the next 48 hours after the Dermaroller® micro skin needling treatment. Try your best not to sweat, so no gym, weights or running. Sweating opens the pores of your skin and bacteria might be able to enter the reopened skin punctures, which could lead to a reaction or infection. Please also avoid saunas, hot tubs and any conditions gets you overheating.

Avoid the sun and sunscreen

We also recommend you avoid the sun after a dermaroller treatment. UV light can harm to the skin during the healing process.
The skin will be highly sensitive after the micro needling. Avoid moisturisers and sunscreen for 24 -48 hours, as the oils may enter the skin channels.

Avoid “Active Ingredient” skin products

Products with “active ingredients” usually include substances like Alpha Hydroxyl Acids, Retinol and other similar agents. These ingredients can potentially irritate the skin after microneedling and delay the healing process.

Avoid makeup

You definitely do not want your makeup penetrating the pores and causing further irritations. Makeup brush bristles can penetrate the pores that have been opened by the microneedling process. Dirty make up brushes may also cause negative side effects.

Ensure your hands are always clean

Pay extra care that your hands are always clean after dermaroller treatment and try to avoid touching your face. You do not want dirt and bacteria getting in contact with the skin while it is healing.

To receive further advice and to learn more about Dermaroller® micro skin needling or any of our other cosmetic treatments at our Austin Brewer Bournemouth skin clinic in Bournemouth, call us on 07823 883888 and we will be happy to assist you. How To Find A Botox & Filler Practitioner

Looking for the right Botox & Filler practitioner is becoming an important consideration for many consumers. This is mainly due to the drop in average age of clients for cosmetic procedures such as lip fillers and Botox.  Also because the number of unhappy botched procedures have increased over the last few years.

Don’t be one of the thousands making the mistake by choosing the wrong Botox & Filler practitioner.  Leaving you with undesirable results. Austin Brewer’s skin clinic in Bournemouth are here to help you find the right practitioner to make you feel more confident.

Where do you start your search in looking for a Botox & Filler practitioner?

Firstly, it is vital that your aesthetic practitioner is using the very best, high-quality facial aesthetics products.  Ensure you attend a thorough face to face consultation before going ahead with any facial aesthetics treatment. Check that their products are sourced from a UK pharmacy with a valid prescription.  Avoid any practitioner that has imported fake/black market products.  These products do not meeting strict UK government legislation and could have serious side effects on your health.  Make the effort to do your research.  You will thank us in the long run!

What should you look for in an aesthetic practitioner?

Look for someone who is a fully qualified and trained healthcare professional.   Also someone who is artistic and can make facial aesthetics treatment work for your individual features. We also recommend an aesthetic practitioner who is easily contactable and local to your area, with time available to provide you with regular check-ups regarding your treatment. This is essential for post-treatment help and advice.

Using a specialist facial aesthetics clinic also ensures that you are provided with the most knowledgeable service.  Someone who is on hand with medical treatment in the rare case that the worst happens, such as an allergic reaction.

Can you use an aesthetic practitioner from social media?

If you cannot find any other means of contacting the aesthetic practitioner or any important information regarding their experience and qualifications apart from their social media pages, then alarm bells should be ringing.  Don’t be fooled by their number of followers or the reviews.  You never know how authentic this might be.  If you are unhappy with your results or you want to make a complaint, it is very easy for them to press that block button.  There is zero accountability with the social media route – it’s not worth the risk!

What if I need to complain about my aesthetic practitioner?

Before choosing a facial aesthetics practitioner, you should ensure that they have a governing body that will support you if the unfortunate need to complain does arise.  Therefore, using a medical professional is essential, as often beauticians will not have a governing body and will vanish into thin air as soon as you complain, leaving you helpless.

Can I ask my friends for advice?

If your friends provide you with advice, make sure they have your best interests at heart.  We always recommend doing your own research first to ensure that you can put your trust in the aesthetic practitioner, but more importantly that they are a medical professional.  A great practitioner will offer you a free consultation if they are reputable.

Your professional aesthetic practitioner has all the answers you need based on up to date researched medical information, which is all for your well-being and safety.

Should you consider pricing when choosing an aesthetic practitioner?

When undergoing facial aesthetics treatments with an aesthetic practitioner, you are not just paying for the product alone. You pay for the level of experience, clinical advice and administration, professionalism, safety, on-going care and accountability.  Cost should not be the only consideration, as there are other more medically important factors that should come first.

However, the cheapest cosmetic treatments will always be the cheapest for a reason. In other words, the aesthetic practitioner is unlikely to be using the best products and / or the most qualified.  On the other hand, don’t automatically assume the most expensive will be the best.  This can also be an expensive mistake to make if you do not achieve a great result. We’ll say it again: research is key.

Whilst some of the above might seem a little far-fetched, unfortunately we speak from experience. Clients we have helped in the past have often experienced these issues from not choosing the right aesthetic practitioner due to a lack of research.  We would never want you to be the next person walking through our door due to a bad experience elsewhere.  At Austin Brewer in Bournemouth, we want you to have your facial aesthetics treatment done to the highest quality first time.

To receive further advice and to find out more about our professional and specialist facial aesthetics services, such as lip fillers in Poole and Botox® at our Austin Brewer skin clinic, call us on 07823 883888 and we will be happy to assist you. We also offer all patients a free consultation.

What’s The Difference Between At Home And Professional Chemical Peel In Bournemouth?

A Professional chemical skin peel in Bournemouth is best left in the hands of the professionals.  With an influx of at-home skin peels on the market, you may be tempted to try and see what the fuss is about. If you are thinking about trying a chemical skin peel, read why a one-size-fits-all, over-the-counter option may not be the best for you:

At home skin peels are not as effective

Chemical peels are substances applied to the face to diminish the appearance of ace scars, sun damage, fine line and more. At home peels, or ‘superficial peels’ usually contain a light glycolic or salicylic acid. This weak concentration may mean it is safe enough to sell over the counter but will only have a very minimal impact on the skin’s surface.

Professional peels, or ‘in-office peels’ ten to contain stronger components. Trichloroacetic acid is a stronger ‘medium depth’ peel, ideal for rejuvenating deeper layers of the skin. Phenol is used as a deep peel to treat more serious signs of ageing and wrinkles.

A Professional chemical skin peel in Bournemouth is bespoke

Unlike at home peels, professional facial peels are tailored to your skin by a medical professional. At our skin clinic in Bournemouth, Austin Brewer will create a personal cosmetic treatment plan, depending on your skin type and the results you wish to achieve. The type of peel and concentration of chemicals used will be augmented to give you the healthy, youthful skin you desire.

Professional skin peels are safer

Chemical peels have come a long way in the past ten years. Now you can have a safe facial peel by an experienced professional with only minimal possible peels or redness. These effects will fade in just a few hours.
If you choose to buy a home peel, consider the ingredient carefully. Selecting the wrong type of skin peel for your skin could cause irritation or allergic reaction. If you are unsure, consult an aesthetic practitioner.

Where To Get The Best Botox In Bournemouth?

Thinking about Botox? If you are starting your wrinkle treatment research, you know there are lots of providers to choose from. Read our expert advice on where you should get Botox in Bournemouth for safe, reliable and natural-looking results.

High Street Botox

There has been a recent surge of Botox wrinkle treatments available on the high street. Now even national high street retailers have announced plans to perform Botox in their stores. But there are many safety concerns over this type of ‘casual beauty treatment’. Unlike eyebrow threading or waxing, Botox requires a safe, sterile consultation room. It is also essential that Botox is performed by a qualified and experienced professional. Before you are tempted by cheap prices, do your research to find a reputable company. Consult previous customer testimonials to get a good idea of how safe their practises are.

Botox Parties

At our skin clinic in Bournemouth, we strongly advise against Botox parties for the following reasons:

• Botox parties are commonly held in private homes, away from safe regulation.
• Guests are often encouraged to try wrinkle treatments without any formal or professional consultation beforehand.
• The treatments are often performed by beauticians, rather than qualified professionals.

If you choose to attend a Botox party, be wary of any legal waiver you are asked to sign. If any complication occurs, your beautician may not be held responsible. This means you may have to visit a professional clinic or hospital if you suffer from an abscess or infection from unprofessionally administered dermal fillers.

Aesthetic Practitioners

The safest place to get Botox in Poole and Bournemouth are from a reputable skin clinic. Austin Brewer is fully qualified aesthetic practitioner with years of experience.

If you would like more information about our cosmetic treatments, including our new Juvéderm Volite skin booster treatment, call Austin Brewer today on 07823 883888 to book your free skin consultation.

What Are Injectable Moisturisers And Skin Boosters?

As the summer comes to close, most of us swap to a more heavy-duty moisturiser. The winter weather calls for a higher level of hydration and injectable moisturisers are be the ideal solution. Injectable moisturisers (or skin boosters) are the hottest cosmetic trend right now. Read on to find out why.

How Do Injectable Moisturisers Work?

Volite is the latest anti-aging treatment from famous Botox® brand, Juvéderm. The Volite contains hyaluronic acid, which naturally occurs in the body to plump and hydrate the skin. Just one treatment provides a whole nine months of dermal hydration. The result? A beautiful glowing, dewy complexion. Skin boosters like Juvéderm Volite plumps and evens the skin and can help reduce fine lines.

How Are Moisture Injections Different To Dermal Fillers?

The hyaluronic acid in moisture injections is more aqueous than in traditional dermal fillers. This fluid texture allows the moisture to spread evenly across the skin. The flowing hyaluronic acid in injectable moisturisers is well suited for hands, neck and décolletage application.

Why Is Juvéderm Volite Moisturiser Treatment Better Than Normal Moisturisers?

There are plenty of anti-aging moisturisers on the market, but these can only be applied on top of the skin. Your complexion will only retain a small amount of moisture from topical creams. However, injectable moisturisers stimulate under the skin barrier to increase the body’s own production of collagen and elastin to rejuvenate your complexion.

Where Can I Get A Skin Booster Treatment?

Experienced aesthetic practitioner, Austin Brewer, has years of experience applying cosmetic treatments with Juvéderm products. Juvéderm Volite is ideal for anyone who wants more skin moisture and a glowing complexion. Visit our skin clinic in Bournemouth to find out more.

When Is The Best Time To Start Botox?

So, when is the best time to start Botox?.  We all know the basics of good skin care. Avoid smoking, sunbathing, get your eight hours of beauty sleep, ect. But lifestyle habits can have a varied effect on your skin depending on your age. Drinking a few too many cocktails in the sun will have less damaging effect on a twenty-year-old than a fifty year old. So when should you start thinking about wrinkle treatments?

Botox In Your Twenties

“Preventative Botox” is becoming more and more popular with young women. Many women in their twenties are having Botox in Bournemouth to reduce the risk of wrinkles and lines forming too deeply in future. This may be a good idea for those who are noticing faint lines from squinting or frowning. Early Botox is also recommended for twenty-somethings who regularly sunbathe or smoke.

Botox In Your Thirties

Your thirties are normally when most people start to see noticeable wrinkles and lines. Women who have started their own family (and suffering from lack of sleep!) may be more susceptible to early wrinkles. Similarly, stress, smoking and sun rays will start to cause more damage to the skin than before. This is a good time to start Botox wrinkle treatments to prevent permanent deep lines.

Botox In Your Forties

At forty, most women will begin to form prominent crow’s feet and frown lines. Botox can be applied to these target areas to rejuvenate the skin and take years off you! This is also a good time to start chemical peels in Bournemouth, which stimulate collagen production and reduce the signs of aging.

Botox In Your Fifties

By the time women hit fifty, deep lines have formed around the eyes and mouth. The face may have also lost volume and elasticity. We recommend using a combination of Botox for pronounced lines and dermal fillers to bring back a youthful volume and glow to your complexion.

Botox In Your Sixties

Botox is for everyone and it’s never too late. Botox is an ideal option for mature women who don’t wish to under-go cosmetic surgery but want to improve their appearance. Although Botox alone may not make you look twenty one again, they can be combined with a dermal filler 8 point facelift to achieve a fresh, younger look.

Hopefully this helps answer “when is the best time to start Botox” If you would further information or would like to try Botox or lip fillers, contact us at our Austin Brewer skin clinic in Bournemouth on 07823 883 888 and book your free skin consultation.

The best dermal fillers in Bournemouth & Poole for cheeks & face

Are you looking for the best dermal fillers in Bournemouth & Poole?

Nothing looks so youthful as a face with full, round cheeks. Although many of us may resent ‘baby face’ in our early years, the difference when volume is lost in the face is considerable. Sadly, as we age the face loses its volume. This can result in a hollow, gaunt look.  But luckily you can rejuvenate the shape of your cheeks with the best dermal fillers in Bournemouth & Poole.

How do cheek dermal fillers work?

Cheeks are a central focus to the face. A flattering cheek shape can help improve the jawline or simply plump areas where cheeks have lost volume over time. Dermal fillers help revitalise your appearance by injecting hyaluronic acid to plump out the cheeks. Hyaluronic acid is naturally present in the body and has amazing moisturising agents to improve the skin tone.

MD codes for cheeks

If your aesthetic practitioner is inexperienced or unknowledgeable, dermal fillers in the cheeks may look unnaturally ‘pillowy’. This is caused by using too much filler in the wrong areas of the face. If you are considering trying dermal fillers for the first time, ask your practitioner for an MD Code dermal filler face lift. MD codes are an innovative system to ensure provide aesthetic practitioner with clear guidelines to achieve beautiful, natural looking results.

What is an 8 Point Facelift?

The new 8 Point facelift is a hot topic amongst beauty bloggers right now.  With it’s significant but natural effects, it’s clear to see why.  Even those who swore they would never touch a needle are trying this new non-surgical face lift. We explain how the eight point face lift system is different and why you should try it.

You may be hesitant to try Botox in Bournemouth or dermal fillers after seeing the ‘frozen face’ results from inexperienced practitioners.  MD codes are different.  The innovative 8 point facelift takes any unpredictable guesswork out of the equation.  Dr Maio’s dermal filler system instructs aesthetic practitioners where to inject fillers to create specific changes or movement in the face.  MD codes in the 8 point facelift also provide detailed recommendations of the correct amount of filler to use.  This prevents any risk of puffy ‘pillow face’ effects.

What do MD Codes do?

The main aim of MD codes is to reverse signs of gravity and ageing.  Dermal fillers are applied to tighten areas of the face which is starting to sag or plump areas that need more volume.
Some common areas include:

• Lifting cheekbones
• Reduce lines from the nose to the mouth
• Add symmetry
• Plump hollow areas under the eyes

This system only uses the minimal number of injections to create a youthful and natural look appearance.

Does the 8 point facelift hurt?

You may experience a slight stinging in the areas being treated. However, the fillers are applied with an ultra-thin needle, similar to lip fillers, so the discomfort is minimal.  There is also lidocaine in the fillers.  So any minimal pain or discomfort will soon fade soon after the treatment is complete.

How long does a 8 point facelift last?

This cosmetic treatment procedure only takes between 45 mins to 1 hour to complete.  As each treatment is bespoke to the individual some procedures may not need fillers in all 8 points.

The stunning results of the 8 point face lift system can last up to 18 months.  Length of results may vary depending on the type of dermal filler use and the areas which are treated.

How does Botox treat depression?

When you are feeling down, it can be clearly seen in your facial expression. Many of us have childhood memories being told to ‘turn a frown upside down’, but can your facial expression affect how you feel?

Physical ways Botox can help depression

How can you use Botox® for depression? A study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research tested subjects with Botox® injected into the facial areas most commonly connected to low mood. The subjects were suffering from long-term depression but unconcerned with how they looked. Many of them claimed they never would have considered Botox® to improve their appearance. The research concluded that Botox® still improved the mood of the test subjects. This is because the injection of botulinum toxin relaxed the ‘frowning’ muscles and reduces the negative emotional signals transmitted to the brain.

Psychological ways Botox  treats depression

So, we understand Botox® in Bournemouth helps alleviate depression physically but what about psychologically? How we feel about our physical appearance can have a significant effect on our self-esteem. Most people will confirm that when they look good, they feel better and more confident. We find many of our clients feel Botox® smooths out their insecurities (as well as their wrinkles!). If you are feeling self-conscious about your laughter lines or those deep lines between your brows, wrinkle treatments can help reduce your concerns and feel better daily.
