What should I avoid after dermal fillers?

What are the side effects of dermal fillers?
After your dermal filler treatment in Harley Street, it is quite usual for the area to be red or tender and for there to be some swelling – the degree of these will vary depending on the area treated.
Bruising can happen, but again this will vary from person to person – but is quite rare.
Safety first always
Despite dermal fillers being widely available and unregulated, you should only ever trust a trained medical professional with any injectable treatment. Your well-being should be the priority and your face should not be put in the hands of someone who has only had a 1 day training course and no medical background. The more serious side effects of dermal fillers (which can leave permanent disfigurement) are always due to injector error/technique. Not due to the dermal filler product (provided the product has been sourced via a reputable UK Pharmacy)
Are all dermal fillers the same?
Absolutely not! We are proud to use only the very best and clinically proven dermal fillers which are the world leaders – Juvederm & Restylane. The deals that you may see on social media or advertised online, that seem too good to be true – are. Fillers that come from a reputable pharmacy on prescription are never cheap. Fillers that are bought online via a black market source are cheap – you have no way of knowing what is in a counterfeit dermal filler product.
No reputable practitioner will ever offer “dermal filler deals” as this is simply not professional practice
Which fillers last the longest?

What is the difference between dermal filler and Botox injections?
Botox injections relax the muscle movement where lines exist. Dermal fillers literally “fill”. They will create a full and contoured result wherever they are injected. Dermal fillers when in skilful hands will create very natural and beautiful results
How long do dermal fillers last?
This is dependent on many factors: Which product is used, when a superior filler is used, such as Juvederm Vycross range or Restylane the results are long-lasting. Depending on which area is treated results can last up to 18 months. Effects are also reliant on your own body and how quickly it breaks down the hyaluronic acid. So your health is also a determining factor
What does dermal filler do?
Dermal fillers literally “fill”. They will provide a support network to the skin and alleviate sagging and the effects of gravity during the ageing process. As we all age our bodies are not as effective at producing our hyaluronic acid. So our skin becomes dry and thin. Our face generally loses the plump smooth look it once had. This is how dermal fillers can help as they work deep under the skin. They attract moisture from within and will restore the lost facial volume
Is it normal to have lumps after dermal fillers?
Sometimes there can be lumps. However, leave them alone and allow for any swelling to subside. This normally is when the lumps will disappear on their own. If you have any persistent lumps, then return to the clinic where they can be dealt with. Do not attempt to massage or do anything to them yourself. As you may inadvertently move the filler out of its correct position. But generally, no lumps occur
Do filler lumps go away?
As we mentioned above they will go away – only in rare cases and for varying reasons (eg: inferior product or bad administration technique) can lumps remain
Should I massage lumps after dermal fillers?
No – it is always best to return to the clinic where you had treatment to have any lumps sorted. Ensure any swelling has gone first
Do dermal fillers ruin your skin?
No – provided you use a reputable medical Practitioner
Do fillers make your face look fat?
Only if they are incorrectly placed when they are injected. This is why you should only trust a medical professional who is competent at creating artistic results, that complement the rest of your facial features
Is dermal filler bad for you?

What happens if I no longer want fillers?
The filler will simply naturally break down over a gradual period of time by your body. If you no longer wish to continue with fillers (lips or facial) then your body will eventually dissolve them naturally and the area will return to its original state. It will not leave saggy skin where the filler has “stretched” your skin out.
