Skin Needling – (Dermaroller®)
What is micro skin needling and how does it work?
Micro skin needling is an increasingly popular cosmetic treatment that will help give your skin a healthy and youthful appearance. It is one of the safest skin rejuvenation treatments on the market as it does not remove the skin surface and has little-to-no downtime. It produces comparable results to other skin treatments such as lasers, dermabrasion and deep chemical peels.
Dermal rolling is based on the concept of the skin’s ability to regenerate and repair itself when it encounters physical damage like cuts, burns and more. The act of the dermaroller allows for a controlled induction of the skin’s self and its’ repair mechanism by creating micro – injuries which trigger new collagen production, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring.
Micro skin needling is an effective way of treating:
- enlarged pores
- acne and acne scars
- chicken pox scarring
- fine lines and wrinkles
- lack of skin firmness and elasticity
- sun damage
- pigmentation
Will Dermaroller® micro skin needling hurt?
There is an amount of associated pain with the treatment but this can be alleviated.
What results will I see?
There is a slight degree of redness that you will experience after the Dermaroller® treatment. You may notice that you have a “flushed” appearance – similar to mild sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch. This will diminish greatly after a few hours following the cosmetic treatment and within the next 48 hours your skin will be completely healed and looking great!
How often is treatment recommended?
We recommend a full (free) consultation to asses the required treatment schedule to achieve the finest results personalised to you.
