Botox Aftercare Advice & Instructions

Botox Aftercare Advice

Botox (anti-wrinkle injections) is a safe and effective treatment when performed correctly. Following the right aftercare helps ensure optimal results and reduces the risk of unwanted side effects.

At Austin Brewer Aesthetics, all aftercare advice is based on clinical experience and tailored to each patient.

This guide is for general information and does not replace personalised medical advice given during your appointment.

What to Expect After Botox

Following treatment, it is normal to experience:

  • Mild redness at injection sites

  • Slight swelling or bumps (usually settle within 30 minutes)

  • Occasional minor bruising

Results typically begin to appear within 3–5 days, with full results visible at around 10–14 days.

What to Avoid After Botox

For the first 24 hours, we recommend:

  • Avoid touching or rubbing the treated area

  • Avoid lying flat for at least 4 hours

  • Avoid strenuous exercise

  • Avoid alcohol

  • Avoid heat (saunas, steam rooms, hot showers)

These precautions help prevent the product from spreading to unintended areas.

Aftercare Tips to Maximise Results

  • Remain upright for several hours post-treatment

  • Do not rub injection sites or around the areas treated
  • Follow any personalised advice given during your appointment
